Manual Handling (Theory & Practical for non-people moving staff)

Who is the Course For

Open to all. Nursing Care Staff must attend a People Moving Course.

Course Content

• Key pieces of legislation that relate to Moving and Handling.
• Completing risk assessments in relation to Moving and Handling of objects.
• Explain the areas of the spinal column and relate this to postural alignment when moving and handling.
• Unsafe practices and common injuries.
• Practical movement in relation to job role.

Course Materials

• All those completing the course will be issued with a Certificate.
• A full set of Course Notes will be issued to the Manager of those attending.

Notes

Staff will be required to sign a Health Declaration prior to the start of the course.
