Who is the Course For

All staff working in Social Care.

Course Content

• Be aware of principles for safe handling of infected or soiled linen and clinical waste.
• Recognise legal implications and legislations associated with infection control.
• Recognise ways in which your own health and hygiene may pose a risk to others.
• Demonstrate correct hand washing procedure to prevent cross infection.
• Know the main routes by which infection can enter the body.
• Understand the principles of bacteria growth.
• Discuss the decontamination and management of infections through categorising into high, medium and low risk.
• Recognise common infection and infestations.

Course Materials

• All those completing the course will be issued with a Certificate.
• A full set of Course Notes will be issued to the Manager of those attending.

I definitely feel more confident about the knowledge I have gained. I liked the training I learn best when able to look at something and takes notes rather than just listening.
